Officially A Student, Again...

Well...after a week or so, that includes some 'self-rewarding' trip to somewhere in Europe, I stepped my feet to Birkbeck, University of London. The campus lies in the heart of Bloomsbury, a smile away from Oxford Street, where I can see Malaysians shop till they drop! Malaysians are rich, aren't they?

Registration began at 2? Hell yeah....as the university named itself as London's Evening University. It was just like what I had during undergraduates, minus the parents, and cranky babies. International students postgraduates and undergraduates registered together! I saw young, babyish faces, I saw seniors, and the experience was superb. I managed to mix with students from all over the world. There were Americans, Azerbaijani, Malinese, Hungarian, and many more. For me, it was an eye opener, to meet people from across the globe.

Registration was simple, no oath taking ceremony, no unwanted boring speech from Vice Chancellor, or even Rector, we were welcomed in a very simple way, and  they gave me this pack, which contains a few guide books, and a nametag. Malaysia? Yeah...some of them know the TWIN TOWER, and some of them gave the blurry look when I told them I am from Malaysia. But somehow, one person did ask me "Are you from Malaysia? Because you look like Malay?"

We spent less than 3 hours to complete the registration process, together with speeches, most of them took less than 5 minutes to finish their speech. Bravo!

So my student life has begun officially! And now...time to flip the notes, and...........................

Errr did I say shopping? Nahhhh....while most Malaysians love to shop at Oxford Street, I found it rather bland! Too many people to look at. I'd rather spend my time sitting in parks, or at home.

So.....let the ball rolls! Hope to survive during this super chilly weather..........as I hate it very much!

Glad to know that you are doing well there. Keep on writing. I am going to apply for HLP next year. Hopefully your blog would motivate me all the way to the interview stage :)
